About Watan Development and Initiative Organization (WDIO)
Watan Development and Initiative Organization (WDIO) is a civil, nongovernmental, nonprofit, nonpolitical & an independent organization, it is founded by a team of professional & committed Afghan citizens in the year 2014. The main four areas for which the organization works are peace building & defending of human rights, education, health services and agriculture & livestock. We also work for enhancement of democracy, equal access to justice and services for women, reduction of domestic violence, rehabilitation of battered women and abused children.
The organization was registered in the Ministry of Economy with the registration number # 3120 dated 02-02-2014. The organization works in Collaboration with other line Ministries, NGOs, INGOs, and Donor community.
WDIO is committed to applying a ‘zero tolerance’ policy towards acts of sexual exploitation and abuse by its personnel. In 2003, the United Nations Secretary-General issued a Bulletin on “Special measures for protection from sexual exploitation and sexual abuse” (ST/SGB/2003/13) (“the Bulletin”). To support the system-wide implementation of the zero-tolerance policy, the Director-General has decided to adopt the standards of conduct and provisions on PSEA set by the Bulletin, adjusted as necessary, to be applied by WDIO personnel, as follows.
Job Summary
The District Coordinator is reportable to WDIO CBE Senior Education Officer, in addition, he/she will report operation sides to the Sr. Admin and Finance Officer. The following items are the main responsibilities of the District Coordinator:
Duties & Responsibilities
- Responsible for all CBE-related activities in the field and implementation of projects at the district level with close coordination with project stakeholders and target groups.
- Overall responsible for district operation, staff management (Field Monitor and Teacher Trainer), and other outstanding issues at the district level.
- To monitor and supervise district-level staff on a day-to-day basis at the district level through field visits.
- To ensure good working relations with members of the concerned villages.
- To assist the local staff & district team in planning and overseeing the implementation of project activities at the community level.
- Registration of CBCs with Hub school or DED, for having the number ASAS.
- To promote and initiate meetings between communities, government agencies, INGOs, and other actors at the district level.
- Cope with local problems and always propose options for conflicts and local tensions for proper solutions.
- To ensure trainers conduct relevant training to the community members with a special focus on females and people with disabilities inclusion in the training and other project activities.
- To actively evaluate the security situation at the district level and implement strong adherence by staff to security regulations and precautions.
- Keep proper and updated records of all district-level activities, and fill the system in hard and soft.
- Proper tracking/updating of the output matrix on a quarter base.
- Assist project activities in the selection of target groups and supervise data collection.
- Ensure that proper community development practices and “Do No Harm”.
- Conduct regular meetings with Teacher Trainers and social mobilizers, and guide them accordingly.
- Through the transfer of own knowledge and skills, enhances the ability of Teacher Trainers and Social Mobilizers.
- Assist the Teacher Trainer during training by giving technical input and model lessons.
- Any other task assigned by top management.
Job Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years’ working experiences on similar positions of national and international NGOs.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Education. Social Science or related
- Required Languages – Excellent Pashto and Dari reading, writing, and verbal skills, Fluent in English, reading, writing, and verbal skills. Travel – The position will be based in one of the Kabul districts with frequent travels to the field (villages).
- District Coordinator is required to have his own transportation/motorbike, the office will pay for fuel.
- District Coordinator is required to have his/her own smartphone for ODK purposes.
- Excellent capacity development and teamwork skills; cross-cultural and gender sensitivity;
- Ability to travel throughout the province;
- Respect the confidentiality of the organization;
- Ability to use information technology effectively.

Ensure that all the staff, partners and vendors selection process adequately implant PSEA, Anti-harassment Safeguarding Policies commitments.
